The following is the text of a press release issued by the U.S. Coast Guard:
(MOBILE, Ala.) — The 37-year-old Filipino crewman from the container ship MSC Tokyo was located safe in downtown Mobile, Wednesday.
The Filipino crewman was reported missing to the Coast Guard from the Singapore-flagged vessel early Monday. The Coast Guard and local agencies conducted a comprehensive two-day search at sea for the missing crewman.
The Coast Guard flew 31 aircraft sorties and covered more than 3,408 square-miles of water offshore and in Mobile Bay.
An investigation into the circumstances of the disappearance of the crewman is being conducted.
