SS United States may become part of Philadelphia casino project

(PHILADELPHIA) — Developers of a waterfront casino project are possibly considering incorporating the SS United States into the project, the Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper reported. The SS United States Conservancy is pushing the idea of moving the nation’s former flagship ocean liner up the Delaware River to the proposed Foxwoods site. The conservancy has an option to buy the SS United States for $3 million, and it likes the idea of turning it into a casino and boutique hotel.
