Foss Announces Key Management Assignments

SEATTLE, May 19, 2010 – Foss Maritime today announced that two marine transportation veterans – one a longtime Foss manager and the other newly hired employee with extensive senior management experience – will take over key assignments at the company.

Andy Stephens has been promoted to Vice President, Business and Planning Development, where he will be responsible for developing initiatives for the consolidated business activities of Foss Maritime. Stephens, who joined the company in 1993, will also become chief of staff to Foss Maritime COO and President Gary Faber.

Said Faber, “As Andy steps into these new roles, he brings with him extensive knowledge of our company and experience in the strategic planning process. Foss is moving forward on several different initiatives that build on our company’s core competences. He is intimately familiar with our goals.”

Meanwhile, Faber announced the hiring of Mike Magill, who will become Vice President, Technical Services. He will take over responsibilities for Foss’ shipyards, purchasing and engineering departments; areas previously managed by Stephens.

“We are very happy to have Mike join our team,” Said Faber. “With his extensive domestic and international maritime experience, he will be a great asset to the company.”

Magill comes to Foss with 29 years of experience in the maritime transportation industry, most recently with K-Sea (formally Sea Coast Towing), where the scope of his position included divisional operations, fiscal performance, safety and compliance on the East Coast, the Gulf of Mexico, and internationally.

Magill is a graduate of New York Maritime College with a Bachelor of Engineering and holds an Unlimited Engineering License.
