Riverboat Lt. Robert E. Lee destroyed by fire at St. Louis (PHOTO)

(ST. LOUIS) — The riverboat Lt. Robert E. Lee was destroyed by fire while at a city dock, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. The vessel was scheduled to move to another berth in St. Charles next week to begin a new tenure as a restaurant boat. The captain said the riverboat is a total loss and he just invested $200,000 in upgrades including a new fire safety system.
