Samson Fills Three Key R&D PositionsMar 12, 2009 12:00 AM Ferndale, WA â March 10, 2009 â Samson, the worldwide leader in performance cordage, has furthered its commitment to excellence in research and development by hiring Greg Mozsgai, Senior R&D Engineer; Mark Pederson, R&D Engineer; and Dylan Dundas, Sales Support Technician. By filling these three key positions, the industryâs most advanced R&D team has strengthened its ability to bring unparalleled innovations to rope technology and worldclass service to its customers.
Greg Mozsgai comes to Samson with an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (U of I) and a BS degree in Engineering Science from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas. His diverse experience includes microelectromechanical-systems (MEMS) design and fabrication. Most recently, he worked for a start up spun out of the U of I, manufacturing small fuel cells as battery replacements for portable electronics in both the consumer and industrial/military markets. As Senior R&D Engineer, Mr. Mozsgai brings to Samson a strong theoretical background combined with a hands-on approach to product development. He will work on long-range, technology-development projects to aid in opening up new markets.
Mark Pederson received his MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Dakota and his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University. He has engineering project experience that includes a ship-deck motion platform for the U.S. Navy and a vertical-axis wind-turbine heat producing system. Mr. Pederson brings a strong hands-on mechanical background coupled with an analytical approach to problem solving and design to his position of R&D Engineer. He will be a technical resource, contributing to or leading teams on technical projects that support strategic company goals.
Dylan Dundas brings a great deal of real-world experience to the highly customer-service oriented postion of Sales Support Technician. Mr. Dundasâs unique combination of international teaching, fishing, and project management provides a solid foundation for training international crews on splicing and rope handling, in addition to continuing Samsonâs legacy of excellent customer service. With the addition of Mr. Dundas to the Technical Sales Team, Samson now has 18 professionals to provide product support from the point of purchase to long after rope deployment.
