Island Tug and Barge Co. commended for cold-water rescue

SEATTLE — Coast Guard Captain of the Port, Capt. Suzanne Englebert will present Public Service Commendations to four members from the Island Tug and Barge Company for their actions in rescuing a woman from the water who was clinging to a concrete sea wall in Seattle Ship Canal’s Montlake Cut January 14, 2009. After recovering the woman from the frigid waters, the crew rendered appropriate first aid and made arrangements for her to be transported to receive additional medical treatment.
