Mid-Atlantic Maritime Offers Associate Degree Combined with USCG Endorsement

(6/23/2010)
Mid-Atlantic Maritime Academy (MAMA) has partnered with Mount West Community & Technical College (MCTC - formerly known as Marshall Community & Technical College) in Huntington, West Virginia to offer an Associate degree of Applied Science in Technical Studies: Maritime Technology.

MAMA instructors are adjunct instructors for MCTC, and MAMA class credit hours will be accepted toward the Associate degree.  Those who pursue the degree can register for MAMA Coast Guard approved mariner-training classes through MCTC.

Along with the maritime classes, general education classes such as Math, English, etc., will be required.  To receive a degree through MCTC, at least one of your 3-hour general education classes must be an MCTC class.  The class can be taken online or at MCTC.  The rest of the required general education courses can be taken at another community college. The credits will be accepted by MCTC.

Some college credits may be granted based on time on the job, work experience and on the job training.

Mid-Atlantic Maritime Academy is located in Virginia Beach, VA.
