After duck boat crash, Philadelphia replaces K-Sea with McAllister

(GLOUCESTER CITY, N.J.) — After the recent fatal accident involving a duck tour boat and a sludge barge towed by a K-Sea vessel, the city of Philadelphia has replaced K-Sea and instead has hired McAllister Towing to move its barges, the Courier-Post newspaper. McAllister previously held the contract for about 10 years before K-Sea recently underbid McAllister for the work. The Philadelphia mayor’s office said K-Sea voluntarily suspended the contract after the accident.
