Marine to American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Load Line standards. Captain E is named for Master Mariner Eliot Winslow, who founded Winslow Marine in 1955 and passed away in 2006 at the age of 97.

Winslow Marine and Rockland Marine believe that the 150- by 54-foot Captain E is the largest commercial vessel built in Maine for a Maine owner in nearly 100 years. The barge, which was launched on June 7th, at Rockland, Maine, has now been inspected and certified by ABS personnel.

The Captain E will now enter service for Winslow Marine, transporting construction equipment and specialized loads that are too large or too heavy to be transported by highway or rail. Winslow Marine provides Tug and Barge Services on the Eastern Seaboard from the Mid Atlantic to Eastern Canada.
