New positions pin coast-to-coast sales support for Samson

(FERNDALE, WASH. – July 30, 2008) –- Samson, the worldwide leader in performance cordage, recently hired Phil Putnam and Doug Looker as Regional Sales Managers for the Commercial Marine and Commercial Fishing industries. These positions were created to fill the ever increasing demands of the North American markets.

Phil Putnam, Samson’s East Coast Regional Sales Manager will handle accounts from Maine to Florida, while working from his home in Poquoson, Virginia. Mr. Putnam has more than 25 years of sales experience, including with shipyards, the U.S. military, municipal governments, and government contractors. He has a B.S. in Business with a Marketing Management emphasis from Virginia Tech.

Doug Looker, Samson’s West Coast Regional Sales Manager, will cover accounts in Alaska, lower British Columbia, Washington, Oregon and California. He will operate out of the Ferndale, Washington, corporate headquarters. Mr. Looker has worked 11 years in many facets of the company, including the Fabrication and Splicing department, and serving as a Research and Development Technician in the Ferndale lab and as a Field Services Technician, providing field splicing and ship-crew training.
