Baltimore & Chesapeake Steamboat Company seeks assistance from tug industry

The Steam Tug Baltimore, an historic steam tug built in 1906 at the Skinner Boat Works in Baltimore and restored and maintained by B&CSC volunteers needs its dock lines replaced.  K-Sea Transportation Partners L.P. has generously offered new line out of their Staten Island Facility.

We are seeking assistance from the tug industry to get the line from Staten Island to Baltimore. Perhaps something in the fashion of a relay from tug to tug. It would make a great picture story for the Tug Fest at the Baltimore Museum of Industry on August 2 and 3 to show how many hands held that line.

If you are someone or know someone who knows someone who happens to be pushing or towing or just running light in the right direction and like Kevin Bacon is connected to another tug…… your help would be most appreciated.

A special thanks to K-Sea for getting us started.
