Tugboast crew rescues bridge jumper from icy Hudson River

(KINGSTON, N.Y.) — A tugboat crew saved the life of a woman who had jumped into the Hudson River from the Mid-Hudson Bridge, the Daily Freeman of Kingston, N.Y., reported. The vessel Cornell had been breaking ice in the area when the crew noticed someone in the water. One of the crew tossed a line to her and pulled her into the boat, and she survived. The captain said the response was “something any good mariner would do.”
