Congress pressuring EPA to reduce ship pollution

(WASHINGTON) — Some members of Congress are pressuring the Bush Administration to reduce pollution from ocean-going ships, the Associated Press reported. Sen. Barbara Boxer, a California Democrat, said the Environmental Protection Agency is taking too long to rein in emissions from ships. One official from the National Resources Defense Council said ocean vessels are likely to becoming the “last bastion of dirty diesel engines.”
