Atlantic Cordage expands warehouse, opens in Houston

(AVENEL, NY — January 9, 2008) CEO of Atlantic Cordage Corp Peter Gronbeck has announced that beginning in February 2008, the company, located in Avenel, NJ, will commence operations in Houston, Texas stocking wire ropes for mooring line applications, as well as synthetic ropes for mooring lines and tails.

Atlantic Cordage looks forward to this opportunity to expand the availability of their “Defiance Brand” of wire and synthetic ropes in addition to the Katradis VEP product line of wire and synthetic ropes.  An 800-ton press will be on-site with the capability to mechanically splice wire ropes up to and including 1-3/4″ diameter. Atlantic Cordage-Houston will also stock their sister company’s A.L. Don series of U. S. Coast Guard approved Pilot and Debarkation ladders as well as SOLAS regulation ladders where U. S. C. G. approval is not required.

At their Avenel New Jersey location, construction is underway for a 15,000 square foot addition to the present 37,000 square foot office/warehouse complex. The expansion is necessary due to the increased inventory to better serve their customer base and to make room for their newly designed rope splicing facility to accommodate the Samson HMPE line of products. Completion is expected the end of February.
