Inventor tests combination double-hull boat-submarine

(JACKSONVILLE, Fla.) — A combination double-hull boat-submarine has undergone its first public test in Florida, the Florida Times-Union newspaper reported. The Hyper-Sub is made of steel and acrylic material. The vessel differs from other mini-subs in that it can operate on top of water for a considerable time. The Navy is interested in the prototype, and investors see potential for the vessel to be used in salvage, underwater repairs and vessel inspections.
