TSB: Steering gear circuitry problem caused 2007 tanker grounding

(GATINEAU, Quebec) — Canada’s Transportation Safety Board has ruled that an electrical anomaly in steering gear control circuitry probably caused the chemical tanker Sichem Aneline to run aground in the St. Lawrence River in 2007. The TSB said there was no continuous lifetime maintenance and failure record aboard the ship.
