Lake Champlain’s Fort Ticonderoga Ferry has new owners

(TICONDEROGA, N.Y.) — The Fort Ticonderoga Ferry has new owners, the Plattsburgh Press-Republican newspaper reported. The 106-foot cable ferry between Ticonderoga and Shoreham, Vt., is now operated by the Matot family of Shoreham. A ferry has operated the route across Lake Champlain for 250 years, except for a single interruption during the Revolutionary War.
