Newfoundland getting larger ferry, with Ottawa’s help

(PORT AUX BASQUE, Newfoundland) — Southwest Newfoundland soon will have a new, larger ferry, the Gulf News newspaper of Port aux Basque reported. The government is providing C$105 million to charter the 24-meter vessel over the next five years. Officials in southwest Newfoundland said many more people would like to visit their province but some cannot get ferry tickets.
