Excursion boat leaks 7,500 liters of diesel near Quebec City

(QUEBEC CITY) — An excursion vessel near Quebec City leaked an estimated 7,500 liters (1,981 U.S. gallons) of diesel fuel into the St. Lawrence River on Sunday morning, with emergency crews working through the day to clean up the spill, Global News Canada reported. A spokeswoman for Croisieres AML, which owns Louis-Jolliet, said the leak was noticed at about 7 a.m. The company said the incident occurred when a small fuel reservoir overflowed due to an electrical problem.
